Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)-Iowa City, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract to provide all professional, technical and investigative services including all labor, tools, equipment required to prepare working drawings and specifications and provide construction period services and asbuilt drawings for the general construction project Angio & cath Site Prep at the VAMC in Iowa City, IA. NAICS Code 541310, the applicable Small Business Size Standard of $4.5 million, applies. The scope of work for this project shall include but not be limited to the design services for the renovation of approximately 3400 GSF of existing space in two areas on the 2nd floor of building 1. The Architect-Engineer contract will include investigative services, services for design of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems (with reviews); reproduction of bid documents; construction period services; final inspections and as-built drawings. The design will require evaluation of the current mechanical and electrical and structural systems to meet the requirements of the new medical equipment to be installed. Construction will require phasing to sequence several moves involving the old x-ray file room, the current angio room, cath lab and x-ray reading room. The cath lab is currently on 8th floor with the other rooms all on 2nd floor. The firm selected will provide a bid package that includes contract documents with architectural, mechanical and electrical to match footprint provided. A/E contract will also require the services of a third party registered fire protection engineer (FPE). Estimated construction cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Area of consideration: Firms must be located within 100 mile radius of the VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA.
