Description
INDUSTRY DAY FOR THE A/E32K-11 MUNITIONS LIFTING ASSEMBLY (MLA) The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ plans to host an Industry Day on 13 November 2008, at Beale Air Force Base, California, in order to present information about an upcoming effort to procure the design, development, fabrication, and testing of the USMC Munitions Lifting Assembly (MLA), Model Designation A/E32K-11. The A/E32K-11 will consist of four major assemblies including the on-load gantry, the rail conveyor, the off-load gantry and the interface control board. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. AS OF THE DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The purpose of this Industry Day is to familiarize potential sources with the MLA requirements. The Government will provide an overview of the MLA program and its acquisition strategy. This Industry Day Announcement is issued solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This Industry Day Announcement does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Government WILL NOT PAY for any information received in response to this announcement nor will the Government compensate any respondent for incurred costs associated with attending the Industry Day. Vendors interested in attending this Industry Day are requested to provide the following information by November 4, 2008 via email to Michael Manaresi at michael.manaresi@navy.mil with a copy to Neil Davis at neil.davis@navy.mil. 1.Company name, address and phone number; 2.Name(s) and title of personnel attending; 3.Social security number; 4.Date of birth; and 5.Place of birth (city & state). Not responding to this announcement shall not preclude participation in any future RFP. Any comments provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The objective of this potential procurement is to replace the current USMC Munitions Assembly Conveyor (MAC) Model Designation A/E32K-3, P/N: 8457540-10, NSN: 6RD-1730-01-202-5141 with a new munitions assembly conveyor system that is improved and compatible with the A/M32K-10 Universal Rough Terrain Munitions Trailer and the MTVR MK 23, 25, 27, & 28 series tactical vehicles. The MLA will provide a mobile capability to rapidly assemble/disassemble conventional munitions and provide a means to load/unload to/from a munitions trailer. During operation, the munitions components are brought to the on load gantry, placed on the rail conveyor for assembly and progress to the offload gantry where the complete assemblies are removed and transported to the flight line. The unit is required to be disassembled for transport from base to base as mission locations change. An external maintenance trailer will provide electrical power and pressurized air to power the MLA. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or commitment of any kind.
