- The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for Grounds Maintenance Services at the SSA Frank Hagel Federal Building in Richmond, California. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract with a twelve (12) month base year period, subject to change, and four (4), successive, one-year options, if exercised, following a 45-calendar day phase-in/ transition period. This acquisition is a set-aside 100 percent for Total Small Business concerns. Any responsible small business source may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Agency. Offers received from other than a small business source will be deemed unacceptable and will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 561730. The size standard for this NAICS code is $6.5 million. This requirement will be procured utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A Request for Proposals (RFP), Number SSA-RFP-R9-2906, is scheduled for release on or about during the month of October 2008, subject to change, with proposals due no-later-than 30 calendar days thereafter. All parties interested in submitting an offer should download the solicitation from the Federal Procurement website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading at the same website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation or cover letter will also include the date and time for a Site Visit Survey. Note: Any prospective offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. To register in CCR at the website: www.ccr.gov, applicants must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). All contract awardees will have to undergo a security background screening. NO telephone call and NO email request for the solicitation will be accepted or acknowledged. NO hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed.
