- Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractorto provideall labor, equipment, transportation and other resources to complete thisproject. The principal components of work include the following: a. Removing 550-kV series capacitor bank, 550-kV power circuit breakers and 550-kV current transformers. b. Modifying series capacitor platforms, foundations and equipment. c. Installing new 550-kV series capacitor equipment on modified platforms,new550-kV series capacitor platforms and equipment, 550-kV power circuitbreakers,550-kV current transformers, control cable, fiber optic cable and duplexswitchboard. d. Furnishing and installing reinforced concrete foundations, aluminumconductor, anchor bolts, hardware and fittings. e. Furnishing and installing control cable, insulated power cable, abovegroundand buried copper ground wire, above ground and buried conduit and terminal boxes. The acquisition is subject to the North American Industry ClassificationSystem(NAICS) code of 237130 with a size standard of $31.0 million. The projectmagnitude is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The work is locatedatMead Substation, which is in Boulder City, Cark County, Nevada. This is a100%Full and Open Competition - Sealed Bids. All work is to be completed byApril30, 2009. All responsible business concerns may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Agency. The solicitation will be issued on or aboutNovember15, 2008. Interested bidders MUST fax or mail a request for thesolicitation tothe Contract Specialist.
