- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, intends to award a sole source, commercial items purchase order pursuant to FAR 6.302 to CenturyTel, 208 S. Guadalupe S., San Marcos, TX for the provision of wired telecommunications services at various locations on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Services to be provided include local and long distance service. This purchase order is intended to procure telephone service on an interim basis pending assumption of service by an ACE-IT contractor. CenturyTel has furnished the required service for several years. It is not in the interest of the Government to change providers at this time. This is not a request for proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can furnish the required services may identify themselves and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer within three days from the date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
