Description
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Navy PortableRadios Program Office, PMW-170, intends to negotiate, under the authority of10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, a sole source contract modification withHarris Corporation, RF Communications Division, 1680 University Avenue,Rochester, NY 14610, under existing contract N00039-07-D-0001. Themodification will increase the scope of the contract by adding two (2)additionalradios, the AN/VRC -110 and AN/PRC-152 series, and ancillary parts to thecurrent group of radios and their variations (AN/VRC-103, AN/VRC-104, AN/PRC-117, AN/PRC-150 series and ancillary parts) already on contract. In addition,the modification will extend the contract for an additional two (2) yearsthrough30 September 2012 and will increase the contract value by an estimated $65Mwith an increase in the estimated quantity amount of all radios that can beprocured by an estimated amount of 3,543. The Portable Radios Program is designed to procure, field, and supporthandheld, man-pack, vehicular, and base station radios that fulfill Navy GroundForce High Frequency or Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio, Very HighFrequency (tactical and maritime), Ultra High Frequency Line of Sight, andSatellite Communications (SATCOM) requirements for portable radios. The Government is not soliciting proposals in response to this synopsis. Allresponsible sources may submit a capability statement. A determination bythe Government not to compete the modification to N00039-07-D-0001 issolely within the discretion of the Government. The North American IndustryClassification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334220.
