Description
Purpose of RFI: SAIC-F is seeking to identify a qualified contract manufacturing organization that is able to economically design and fabricate a prototype block realignment device for a rotary microtome or cryostat that would be used to realign mounted/embedded histological samples on a rotary microtome or cryostat. Further information will be made available to any interested party once a NON-NEGOTIABLE, Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) has been executed with SAIC-F. Responder Instructions: 1) Responders must submit a capability statement (10 page limitation, excluding resumes) describing their organization's experience and abilities to further develop the proposed prototype as described which includes: (a) the professional qualifications and experience of key staff who may be assigned in the manufacturing of the prototype; (b) listing of any/all current and relevant certifications from a qualified neutral third-party and contact information; and (c) a general description of the facilities and other resources available to manufacture the prototype. The initial response should include the following Business Information in addition to the capability statement: 1) RFI Number 2) DUNS number 3) Company Name 4) Company Address 5) Company Point of Contacts, Phone, FAX, and Email Address. POC's should include individual(s) who is (are) duly authorized in managing any/all technical issues and/or questions, and individual(s) who is (are) authorized in managing any/all contractual issues and/or questions. 6) Type of Company (i.e. small business, large business, educational institution, etc.) 2) Those parties who are determined to be qualified to further respond, will be formally invited to provide additional information, and will need to respond in writing within 2 weeks from the SAIC-F invitation. A Non-Negotiable NDA will be issued along with the formal invitation. All NDAs must be executed with SAIC-F no later than December 5, 2008 before SAIC-F will release any additional information as it relates to this RFI. 3) Additional information will then be provided to those invited parties which will further define the prototype in more technical detail. 4) The invited parties will be requested to provide further documentation on their: (a) technical approach to produce the aforementioned prototype; and (b) approximate cost of based on the additional information to be provided by SAIC-F mentioned in paragraph 2. The due date for the final responses shall be December 19, 2008 by 4PM Eastern Time.
