- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to determine the general availability of Free Standing, Liquid Multi-fuel, Convective (Forced Air) Space Heaters. MARCORSYSCOM is looking to improve its current technology in Free Standing, Liquid Multi-fuel, Convective (Forced Air) Space Heaters which can heat a tented area up to a maximum of 650 sq. ft. during the entire spectrum of military operations. The heater's fuel-burning element(s) must operate outside the tent and be capable of burning multiple liquid fuels such as JP-8, DF-1, DF-2 and DF-A. The heater must be capable of being controlled with a thermostatic device from inside the tent. If external electrical power is required to run/operate the heater, the electrical power must be 120VAC 50/60 Hz. The space heater must weigh no more than 120 lbs. Lighter weight systems are considered more advantageous to the Government. The heater must be able to operate at alt! itudes of 18,000 ft. above sea level and in extreme cold environments with temperatures ranging from 40 degrees (F) to -40 degrees (F). All interested sources must contain the following: three copies of related brochures, descriptions, product literature, references and any other pertinent information for the Government's perusal to include business status (e.g., small business, small disadvantaged business, HUBZone, women-owned, etc.). In addition, all interested sources are encouraged to submit any and all test data (if available) and test reports (if available) which shows independent evaluation of their Free Standing, Liquid Multi-fuel, Convective (Forced Air) Space Heaters that meet or exceed the aforementioned requirements. Responses shall include statement that demonstrate how the product could satisfy the Government's most desirable features. Pricing and delivery information should be based on the assumption of award no later than the second quarter of FY09. Respo! nses are due by 15 November 2008. Electronic submissions are preferred. Interested sources should send all responses and capability statements via email to Ruth Gullette at ruth.gullette.ctr@usmc.mil. Hard copy submissions shall be sent to: Comanding General, Marine Corps System Command, ATTN: Ruth Gullette, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134. No telephone calls will be accepted. NOTE: This Request for Information is for planning purposes only and is issued in accordance with FAR Clause 52.215-3. No solicitation document exists at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these items or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information submitted in response to this RFI, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information that the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such.
