- Description
- Contracting Office Address: Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions and Lethality (JM&L) Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000 Description: This notice is a Sources Sought announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. The JM&L Contracting Center in support of the Project Manager Soldier Weapons, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for fabrication and delivery of M249 Feedbox Support Improvement Kits (Government Technical Data Package Part Number 13020583). The M249 Feedbox Support Improvement Kit (FSIK) is to be manufactured, inspected, assembled, packaged and shipped in accordance with the Government TDP. The M249 FSIK is composed of metal alloy parts that attach to the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon reinforcing the dovetail support on the weapon. This dovetail support provides the attachment mechanism for either a 100 or 200 round ammunition magazine that feeds the weapon. This reinforcing Kit provides additional support to the weapon dovetail and prevents unintended release of the ammunition magazine due to rough handling due combat operations. This notice is to determine if there are sources capable of manufacturing the M249 FSIK for a potential base quantity of 16,850 with four (4) additional ordering periods for a potential maximum total of 58,700. A possible future contract shall require the successful completion of a First Article sample test, and ongoing lot acceptance tests. The First Article sample shall be required to be submitted to the Government 180 days after contract award. Monthly production deliveries may be required within 75 days after USG approval of the First Article at a production delivery rate ramping up over several months to 2,000 per month. Should an RFP be issued for this action, the planned award will be made on a best value basis under full and open competition. All responsible, interested offerors are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data and any pertinent information in hard copy or via email, within 15 calender days to: Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, AMSCC-JML-SW, Bldg 10, Attn: Mary Krisanda, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000.
