Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Small Business concerns. The NAICS Code is 336611 and the small business standard is less than 1,000 employees. This acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ) on or about November 7, 2008 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web page at www.eps.gov with quotes due on or about December 9, 2008. The government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after the quote opening or closing date. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the bid opening. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).The acquisition is for dockside repairs to the USCGC THETIS (WMEC 910), a 270 foot B class medium endurance cutter, at the cutters homeport in Key West, FL. The vessel availability is for approximately twenty-three (23) calendar days, starting on or about March 4, 2009. The vessels homport is Key West, FL. The scope of this acquisition is for repairs of various items aboard the USCGC THETIS (WMEC 910). The work will include, but is not limited to clean and inspect exhaust stacks, perform port and starboard anchor windlass level 2 maintenance, renew ventilation components in designated compartments, renew air handlers, renew scullery drain piping, renew main diesel engine heat exchangers, renew ships whistle activation system, fabricate and install exhaust insulation blankets for MDE expansion joints, and travel and per diem. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualifications procedures.
