Description
The VA Stars & Stripes Healthcare Network (VISN) intends to enter into a sole source contract with The Advisory Board, 600 New Hampshire Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., 20037 to renew the annual membership for VISN 4 the following program the Nursing Leadership Academy (including center for frontline nursing) for the period of December 1, 2008 through November 30, 2009. The ten (10) participating VA Medical Centers are Altoona, PA; Butler, PA; Clarksburg WV; Coatesville, PA; Erie, PA; Lebanon, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Wilkes-Barre, PA; and Wilmington, DE. The following are services that are provided by the Nursing Leadership Academy offers a wide range of courses on advanced leadership, business, and operations skills specific to nursing leadership roles. Nursing Leadership Academy provides educational sessions outlining fundamentals of nursing finance, evaluating the health of your unit, instilling cost discipline, leading through vision, strategic decision making, problem solving and innovation and managing diversity. Provides for a better informed staff at medical centers and throughout the network, and provides the latest research and information on improving efficiency of care. Services also include presentation of ongoing educational programs to enhance leadership skills in a diverse dynamic workforce. Services include unlimited attendance at all national meetings; onsite research presentation, unlimited access to www.advisory.com and associated online tools; unlimited publication orders and re-orders. This announcement is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 (a) (2). Interested parties are requested to submit clear and convincing data substantiating their capabilities and qualifications to provide comparable membership services that offer best practices, research and analysis to healthcare industries focusing on business and economic issues, health system strategies, cost governance, and operations no later November 14, 2008 COB. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest received on or before November 14, 2008 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation document is available.
