Description
The proposed contract action is for commercial item, which the Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit this requirement on a sole source basis to SYNTHES U.S.A. under the authority of Far 6.302. This is a combined solicitation/synopsis for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number, N00259-09-T-0021 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 339112; Size: 500. All interested bidders shall submit quotations electronically by email to dan.nardi@med.navy.mil or by facsimile at 619-532-5596, attention Dan Nardi. E-mail submissions are limited to 2MB. The submitter should confirm receipt of facsimile and email submissions. Quotations are due on or before 17 September 2008, 10:00AM Pacific Standard Time to be considered responsive. CLIN 0001 P/N #01.111.120 LCP MODULAR MINI FRAGMENT INSTRUMENT AND IMPLANT SET QTY 1 Ea $______ Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), sole source justification is based on SYNTHES U.S.A. using the AO method of fracture fixation which yields the most effective results and for which most of the NMCSD Orthopedics Surgeons are trained to use. In addition, SYNTHES U.S.A. is Tricare standard and many of their products are unique and made to work with instrumentation that the Orthopedics Department already owns. Contractor must be registered to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award.
