Description
The Marine Corps System Command (MCSC) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components parts that can be procured in a rapid manner to produce the MEUSOC.45cal pistols manufactured at the Precision Weapons Section (PWS) Weapons Training Battalion. MCSC has a current requirement for an additional 1,500 MEUSOC.45cal pistols consisting of the parts and quantities shown in attachment 1. MCSC is looking for a commercial vendor that can supply all (29) parts listed in attachment 1. All of the parts required in attachment 1 are Brand Name specific. The particular brand name, product, or feature is essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates other companies' similar products or products lacking the particular feature, do not meet, can not be modified to meet, the agency's needs. Commercial firms possessing the capability noted above and in attachment 1 are encouraged and invited to submit a statement of capability and pricing materials. Please notate if the part is offered on GSA Schedule. At a minimum MSCS requires information on how the proposed parts meet the criteria stated herein, responses must include the following "X Make, and model number of the qualifying parts" X Warranty provisions to support the proposed parts"X Provide corporate business size, stating whether the company is 8(a) certified, disabled veteran-owned, veteran owned, woman owned, HUB Zone, Native American, or other Small Business Administration approved designations "X Earliest delivery date for the products to be delivered. To reiterate, it is important that the following key criteria are met: (1) the vendor must be able to supply all the parts (2) All of the parts are Brand Name specific (3) emphasis is on the earliest delivery possible. MSCS will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities exist in the marketplace to fulfill the Government's requirement outlined above. This request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI and will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information. Interested firms are requested to submit a capability statement, not to exceed 10 pages, outlining their ability to meet or exceed this potential requirement no later than 2:00pm EST, 26 November 2008. Electronic submissions are required. Interested sources should send all capability statements via email to Marian.beeman.ctr@usmc.mil.
