Description
STATEMENT OF WORK I.Contractor shall provide all repair parts (excluding glassware) and service for maintenance on the General Electric Excite LX Magnetic Resonance Imager, EE # 27753, located at the VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida. The magnet is located on the first floor, building 100. The system maintenance includes all portions of the system, including the system control computer, magnet, magnet cabinets, cryrogens, and cryrogen pump. The system does not include the dry laser printer or compressor used to cool the cryrogen pump head. Integrity of the room shielding is also the responsibility of the VAMC, not the contractor. II.Hours of coverage will be from 8:00 am through 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays (New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day). All work done outside the normal coverage time shall be approved by the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). Preventive maintenance shall be scheduled, during normal hours, at least one month in advance with the COTR. Preventive maintenance will be done at the manufacturer's recommended frequency. III.Hardware and software upgrades shall be scheduled and performed during normal working hours, at no additional charge to the VA. These upgrades are those required for the correct function of the system; not those purchased to enhance function. IV.The contractor shall provide all hardware and software necessary for unscheduled repairs. The contractor's field service engineer shall respond by phone within 30 minutes, and respond on site within 24 hours to correct the problem. Uptime requirements, excluding scheduled preventive maintenance, will be 97% of the normal working hours and working days during the term of the contract. All broken parts used to repair the system shall become the property of the contractor. V.Cryrogens and the monitoring of the cryrogen levels shall be the responsibility of the contractor. This includes the purchase, delivery and transfer of all cryrogens, including any field homogeneity adjustments or magnet ramping required during cryrogen additions or replacement. VI.The contractor shall have trained personnel within a 100 mile radius of Bay Pines, Florida. Contractor shall demonstrate an adequate spare parts inventory within an acceptable distance that enables the Contractor to respond within the terms of the contract. Contractor shall provide proof of manufacturer's or equivalent maintenance training of field service personnel. Phone response, and remote diagnostic capability shall be the expense of the contractor. The contractor shall have the ability to remotely access the system for diagnosis and repair, thus improving system uptime. VII.The contractor shall provide all service manuals Manuals purchased by the VA will not be accessible to the contractor. VIII.Each scheduled and unscheduled visit will result in the production of a written report, by the contractor's representative, in a format negotiated between the VA and the contractor. The contractor shall contact the COTR and the Biomedical Engineer before and after arrival on site.
