Description

The Defense Distribution Center, New Cumberland, PA intends to issue a sole source contract for Optical Memory Laser Cards. These cards are used as part of an Automated Manifest System. These cards have the capability to hold 1200 pages of information, and can withstand the harshest military conditions without any loss of data. General Dynamics Information Technology Inc. is the only source that can provide these cards due to the proprietary nature of the Automated Manifest System. Any attempt to develop an alternate source to provide this system, if possible, would result in a substantial cost to the Government. Accordingly, the Government intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price delivery order (FFP) utilizing FAR Part 12 to General Dynamics Information Technology Inc. for the Optical Memory Laser Cards. The delivery date will be 30 days after receipt of the order. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 326130 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
