- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE (not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5) to determine the capability and the availability of commercial sources with the experience in fabricating Wire Rope. This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCLANT), Norfolk, VA to identify qualified sources capable of providing ½ inch (normal diameter), Type 1, general purpose, Class 2, 6x19 Wire Rope for a base plus four option years, if exercised by the Government, with the Period of Performance beginning on February 1, 2009 through January 31, 2010. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary to provide these supplies to various locations throughout the United States. At this time, no solicitation exists: therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. Contractors having the skills and capabilities necessary to provide the stated supplies are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought including, commercial market information and company information. Sources sought include small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran (SDVOSB) small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business and women-owned small business concerns. The NAICS code is 332618 (Other Fabricated Wire Product Manufacturing). The Small Business Size Standard in number of employees is 500. The contractor shall be available to deliver the Wire Rope between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. No deliveries are to be made on Saturdays, Sundays or legal Federal Holidays. Deliveries will be made to the shipping addresses as shown in the solicitation. Interested contractors should include the following information: company name, address, point of contact, phone number and e-mail address; business size and disadvantaged, 8(a) or HUBZone status; corporation affiliations; potential joint venture partners, teaming partners and major subcontractors. Vendors are also invited to provide the following information, paying particular attention to address contracts of similar scope and size; references and record of past performance. The solicitation will be available electronically via FEDBIZOPS at http://www.fbo.gov. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this avenue for release of any future solicitation or synopsis.
