Description
The purpose of this Modification Notice is to provide the following information to all parties. Question: From what I understand, you are referring to an NSN as being a 13-digit numeric code which is used to identify military supply equipment. Is this correct?Answer: Yes. NSN stands for National Stock Number. Question: MFG part numbers refer to manufacturers' part number. Is this correct?Answer: Yes Question: What is meant by CAGE?Answer: CAGE stands for Commercial and Government Entity Code and is a 5-digit code used to identify suppliers and manufacturers. Question: You are asking for a cross referenced list of NSNs. Is there a specific list of NSNs that you need a cross referenced MFG and CAGE?Answer: The Federal Logistics Information System is a component/cross referenced list used to cross reference part numbers to NSNs. Question: From what I understand Allowance Parts List (APL)/Allowance Equipage List (AEL) are distributed on a quarterly basis and become obsolete very quickly. Also, from what I understand there is at least a proposed APL/AEL Distribution system solution which is already implemented. Why do you need APLs and AELs from us? Would you be the one to be providing that information and we will be the ones who will build a database solution for you to manage data and carry out research?Answer: APLs and AELs are distributed quarterly throughout the United States Navy Fleet and some shore activities. The government requires APLs and AELs to identify configuration and conduct ordering of parts to repair and or equip naval activities. The government will not provide that information. The government is requesting the service and will not be building the database solution. Question: Please elaborate on what you looking for with respect to United Kingdom (UK) North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) add on and global deposit account for commercial standards. Answer: UK/NATO add on are NSNs associated primarily and uniquely to the UK and NATO countries. This feature is a NSN add-on to the basic logistics database described in the solicitation. A global deposit account is used for those services that must be obtained from outside commercial sources.
