- This is a combined synopsis / solicitation for Janitoral Services for NOAA, West Coast & Alaska Tsunami Warning Center, Palmer Alaska for the time period 12/1/2008 through 11/30/2009 - 12 months The contractor shall furnish janitorial services in accordance with this statement of work. Services shall be performed at the West Coast & Alaska Tsunami Warning Center (WC/ATWC), located at 910 S. Felton St., Palmer, Alaska 99645. General The services to be furnished under this contract consist of periodic cleaning of the WC/ATWC facility. Contractors are advised to inspect the facility prior to submitting quotes. Arrangements for inspection can be made by calling Janet Herr, at (907) 745-4212. Cleaning is to be performed Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a Federal holiday) morning and Thursday afternoon. Specific tasks are as follows: 1. Trash disposal - Wastebaskets and shredders shall be emptied. Wastepaper and trash shall be consolidated, bagged and removed to main trash cans kept in the garage area. Trash cans need to be wheeled to curbside for refuse service pickup by 11:00 a.m. on Mondays. 2. Floors - The full floor area shall be cleaned each cleaning day. All carpeted area is to be vacuumed. Hard floor surfaces are to be stripped and waxed once per year, usually in the spring. These surfaces are to be dust mopped or damp mopped as required. Spot clean any stained or soiled area as quickly as possible - especially around building entries and entry mats. 3. Dust control - Horizontal work surfaces of desks, tables, files, countertops, partition caps, all chairs, cabinet tops, picture frames shall be dusted with a treated dust cloth so as not to disperse dust into the air or vacuumed with hand brush attachment. Computer keyboards must be cleaned with special care - preferably with compressed air canister or vacuumed soft brush attachment. LCD computer screens must be cleaned gently using special non-static wipes. 4. Bathrooms - Bathroom tiles floors are to be damp mopped with disinfectant cleaning solution. Wash basins, fixtures, and commodes shall be cleaned and disinfected. Mirrors shall be damp-wiped and dried weekly to maintain them in a clean condition. Soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers should be checked and filled as necessary. The waterless men's urinal cartridge needs to be replaced at least every 6 months or as necessary (cartridges are provided). Aerosol canister and batteries for the automatic air freshener dispenser(s) should be replaced whenever needed (see light indicator on unit). 5. Break room - Same mopping and disinfectant treatment as the bathrooms. Clean any food or beverage stains from floor and countertop. 6. Wall Surfaces - Dust or vacuum all accessible wall surfaces as specified in table below. 7. Windows - scheduling washing of exterior window surfaces may be changed dependent on outside temperatures or conditions.
