Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division requires and intends to procure on a sole source basis with Romack Inc. – Lightfoot, VA for a modification to an existing order to change the size of the procured flat plate from 5 in. by 7 in. to 10 in. by 14 in. that will result in four input bundles rather than one and the thickness requirement of the artifact will decrease from 6 in. to less than 3 in. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. It is planned that a modification will be awarded on or about December 1st, 2008 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 Employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, the government will consider responses received by November 28, 2008. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
