- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Augusta GA (VISN 7), contemplates negotiation of a sole source procurement with the Institute for Family Centered Care (IFCC), 7900 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 405, Bethesda MD 20814, for onsite training for developing patient and family advisory counsels and other collaborative roles for patients and families for improvement and change in organizational cultures, building knowledge, skills, and confidence of leaders for engaging patients and families in policy and program development, in enhancing the experience of care, quality and safety initiatives. Developing patient and family faculty programs for medical and nursing education and employee orientation and continuing education programs; partnering with patients, families, staff, and physicians to develop measurement tools to track the progress and outcomes of patient and family centered care change; and partnering with patients and families to improve ambulatory care, medical and surgical care, critical care, rehabilitation, geriatrics, and behavioral health. The NAICS code for this procurement is 611430 with a size standard of $7.0 million. The period of performance for this procurement will be January 1, 2009 September 30, 2009. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider all proposals received within 3 days after publication of this synopsis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature, detailing how their products/services meet VA requirements to the Contracting Officer by fax 478-274-5588. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
