Description

This is a notice of intent to issue a contract to Micropower Corporation, P.O. Box 241730, Little Rock, AR 72223 on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The proposed procurement is a renewal to an existing contract that expires 31 Dec 2008. The vendor shall provide software licensing and support agreement for PowerGold software for Calendar Year 2009 (January 1st to December 31st), plus four 1-year option periods for 22 Soldiers Media Center (SMC) operational sites, 13 Air Force News Agency (AFNEWS) operational sites and 5 Naval media Center (NMC) operational sites. This software package will be utilized by Broadcasting Services personnel to schedule news, command information, and entertainment for broadcast to US Forces stationed around the world. The PowerGold software program already in use by Soldiers Media Center integrates with programming provided by the American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) with SMC, AFNEWS, and NMC broadcast automation equipment. This announcement constitutes the only notice, a written solicitation will not be issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received by the closing date specified in this sole source notice. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See attached Sole Source Justification.
