Although proposal and offeror are used in this RFI, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. 2. Aeronautical Systems Centers 667 Aeronautical Systems Squadron is soliciting information to identify possible sources for a flight certified, side by side, dual-seat console flight station. The console will set in the cargo compartment of a medium lift cargo aircraft. This system is part of a broader Precision Strike Package (PSP). The PSP will add a modular package to a medium lift cargo aircraft, to include a medium caliber gun and Stand-Off Precision Guided Munitions (SOPGM). The console is a specific requirement integral to the success of this program. 3. Respondents to this RFI should describe their ability to meet and/or exceed the following objectives: a. Include interfaces for two side-by-side operators, including: multi-screen displays/operations, and provide space to install sensor hand controller, trackball or touchpad entry and additional status/control panels. b. Fulfill the flight certification requirements (9G forward, 3G aft, 2G lateral). c. Include current human factors designs (MIL-STD 1472, MIL-HDBK 87213, MIL-STD 1787) such as user reach envelope, viewing angles, arms/wrist support, leg room, ability to integrate tactile controls, desk workspace, as well as the ability to integrate aircraft system tie-ins, most notably communication systems and aircrew Oxygen systems. d. The support concept for the console will be at the organizational level. e. Should be capable of holding multiple large screen displays (at least 20 inch) in a side-by-side design. f. Provide provisions for holding operating systems internally inside the console which are easily accessible for maintenance operations. Operating system hardware shall include computers and control boxes. The Console shall take into consideration cooling and power distribution considerations for multiple systems. g. For planning purposes, the console should be less than or equal to 80 inches tall, 48 inches deep, and 84 inches wide. 4. Request that respondents provide a description of the proposed concept solutions relative to this requirement; and also include a brief synopsis of your manufacturing experience, production capacity, aircraft modification experience, software development and integration experience, and systems engineering capabilities, with initial deliveries commencing in late 2009. Drawings, concepts, schedule, cost, and (relative) delivery schedules may also be included in the proposal. For informational purposes only, assume six deliveries in the first year.5. It is desirable, but not required, that responses be submitted on CD-ROM in an electronic format compatible with Microsoft Windows/Office with no macros.
