- Westinghouse Anniston (WA) is soliciting cost proposals for a vendor to perform the following scope of work: WA reserves the right not to award a subcontract after receipt of proposals. STATEMENT OF WORK Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision required to perform the below scope. w/o 335502 PURPOSE OF PROCUREMENT The outdoor metal clad switchgear coatings have degraded and need to be re-painted. SCOPE OF WORK Westinghouse Anniston is soliciting the services of a qualified vendor paint 4160VAC/480VAC Double-Ended Outdoor Metal Clad Substations sizes from 500KVA, 1000 KVA, 1500 KVA to 2000 KVA. Some of the work may require working with an energized unit; therefore, the contractor will be required to give safety references showing background and experience in painting electrical equipment and in developing a safe plan to accomplish the task. A) This work will include removing existing rust, priming and painting, according to the original manufacturer's specifications, WANCDF Specification 16345-SC, Part 3.1 and Specification 09900-SC. B) Surface preparation to include cleaning mechanically with power tools according to SSPC SP 3. C) Coating system to be applied so that the DFT at any point is not less than 4.0 mils with the primer having a DFT of 1.5 mils. D) Reference specification TT-E-489 or SSPC-PAINT 21, TYPE I. E) MSDS sheets shall be submitted and pre approved before any material is brought on-site for use. F) Color to match existing, GRAY. The Vendor shall be required to submit a detailed, written, step by step plan for each specific switchgear, to the WANCDF Electrical Systems Engineer for approval before doing work. The Electrical Systems Engineer may, at times, require a submitted plan on a day to day basis, depending on the potential risks associated with work going on around a specific substation. Any switching required shall be planned and performed under the direct supervision of the Electrical Systems Engineer. All existing markings, Nameplates, Cautions Signs, Danger Signs, Arc Flash Tags, and Fan/Temp. Control Panels must be maintained. If needed, masking tape shall be used to protect areas.
