- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Weather Service (NWS), is in need of a Contractor that can provide all materials, equipment, labor and supervision necessary to completely recondition the fiberglass radome at the National Weather Service facility located at 792 Eagle Drive, Grand Junction, CO 81506. DESCRIPTION: The Contractor shall: 1. Remove all weathered, damaged, or defective caulking from all joints. 2. Remove all loose, peeling, chalking, or blistering paint from the surface of the fiberglass dome. 3. Clean, dry and re-caulk all the joints necessary to seal the fiberglass dome. Contractor will be required to ensure a weather-tight seal is obtained. 4. Prime (min. 3 mil) and paint (min. 6 mil) the entire surface of the fiberglass dome and components. (Note: Acceptable products list at the end of this SOW). ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall: 1. Take reasonable pre-cautions to prevent spilling and dripping of coating materials. 2. Promptly remove any spilled material that discolors or contaminates equipment and structural surfaces. 3. Clean up and properly dispose of all left-over materials and containers. Any business capable of completing this project is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice. The NAICS code for this action is 238320. This service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition Procedures. The Central Region Acquisitions Division requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
