- The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competitive basis with the manufacturer KaVo, USA, 340 E. Route 22 Lake Zurich IL 60047, as the only responsible source that can provide an Everest CAD/CAM System. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures FAR 13. There are not set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 423450. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Essential Characteristics – Computer Aided Dental Milling System The Naval Medical Center San Diego has a requirement for a computer aided table side dental milling system that will allow for fabrication of tooth/implant retained substructures to include round bars, overdenture bars, and multiple fixed unit restorations. The system shall allow for using milling material from a variety of sources and shall not include any additional fee per usage. The system is required to machine dental restorations from the following materials: Leucite reinforced feldspathic porcelain, lithium disilicate ceramics, Y-TZP Zirconium oxide, Titanium, and polymeric resin. Machining must have the ability to work to a maximum tolerance of 0.1 millimeters and have a 5-axis milling system included. In addition the system shall have, but not be limited to, the following characteristics: 1.Surge Protector 2.Ethernet connection 3.Seismic Mounting 4.Operate from a line voltage of 230 VAC + 10%, 60 + 2 Hz, 30 Amp Regulatory Requirements: The computer aided dental milling system and all of its components, shall be compliant with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements to market and deliver medical products for use in the United States of America, even should delivery be requested outside of the United States. The claims made for the product shall comply with the regulations of the FDA with respect to products for marketing and delivery of a medical product for use in the United States of America, even should delivery be requested outside of the United States.
