- Description
- The United States CECOM Contracting Center Army Contracting Command intends to procure thirty (30) Modification Work Order (MWO) kits for use with the Global Broadcasting Service (GBS) for Meteorological Measuring System Profiler (MMS-P) through a new work modification to Firm-Fixed-Price Contract Number DAAB07-00-C-J613 with Smiths Detection, Inc. The total estimated price for this firm fixed price action is $450,000. The MMS-P is an upper air meteorological system that uses state-of-the-art technology to make vertical profiles of the earths atmosphere. The MWO kits required shall include all materials and instructions, appropriately packaged, that are required to modify an MMS-P to include an integrated GBS capability at fielded locations by government personnel. The Government announces its intent to issue a contract modification under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (b) (1) Only One Responsible Source to Smiths Detection, 2202 Lakeside Blvd, Edgewood, MD 21040-1102. Smiths Detection developed the MMS and MMS-P hardware and software, and Smiths designed the MWO kit under a previous effort.. The Government does not possess a technical data package completely defining the form, fit and function of the MWO kit. NOTE: This synopsis is provided for informational purposes only and is not to be considered a request for proposal; however, all responsible sources that meet the above requirements may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Award of modification is anticipated to be issued on or about 13 March 2009. The US CECOM Contracting Center Army Contracting Command has established the Interactive Business Opportunities Page (IBOP) website as part of the Armys Single Face to Industry, to allow electronic transmittal of Request for Proposal (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), and Invitations for Bids (IFBs) from CECOM LCMC to Industry.
