- This is a Request for Information (RFI) from the U. S. Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center, Natick, MA, to identify sources interested in providing technical testing on various electrical and mechanical equipment. The desired test capabilities include: (1) Operating Temperature (High/Low), Operating Altitude (up to 35K ft pressure altitude), Humidity, Shock, Crash Hazard, Ballistic Shock, Vibration, Loose Cargo Transportation, Explosive Atmosphere, Sand and Dust, Salt Fog, Rain/Drip All of the above should be conducted in accordance with (IAW) MIL-STD-810F. (2) Testing of electromagnetic interference (emission and susceptibility) characteristics of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical equipment IAW MIL-STD-461E, specifically but not exclusively RS-103 and RE-102. (3) Testing of intra-system electromagnetic compatibility and subsystem/system level electromagnetic interference IAW MIL-STD-464. (4) Testing to determine airborne utilization equipment compliance with the electric power characteristics contained in and IAW MIL-STD-704A, to ensure test components are in compliance with aircraft system power requirements. (5) Testing of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) IWA with MIL-STD-464 and IEC 61000-4-2. (6) Ability to generate custom test fixtures and test procedures to meet equipment and program needs. Sources are not required to be able to provide all of the above services to be interested. Services do not need to be provided at a single location. Proprietary information will not be disclosed outside of the U.S. government. All interested firms, regardless of size, are encouraged to respond to this request for information. This Request for Information is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for information solicited. A pre-solicitation notice will be published if a formal solicitation is generated. No awards will result from this request. We are seeking sources, technical and product information for products which meet the DoD requirements, or may meet requirements with modifications. Firms responding to this RFI shall bear all risk and expense of any resources used to provide the requested information, and all information submitted in response to this request shall become the property of the Government and will not be returned to the submitter.
