Description
The Rock Island Contracting Command intends to issue a firm fixed price sole source contract to Triple S Dynamics, Inc. for the purchase of 3 each Radial Knife Granulators for Spent Small Arms for McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Granulator units will be fitted with a bucket elevator, stand, hopper, and discharge shroud. The Granulator rotors will have five (5) knife seats and five (5) rotating knives. These granulators will provide a means of continuous operation to certify the safety of small arms ammunition (SAA) brass for the purpose of resale. Acceptable Government specifications include FED-STD-H28; FED-STD-376; MIL-STD-889B; MIL-STD-130; MIL-STD-129; MIL-STD-1472; MIL-M-7298 and 29 CFR. Applicable non-Government specifications include NEMA; NFPA 70; ASTEM E3 80 and ANSI B20.1. The demilitarization of spent SAA must be done in accordance to DOD 6055.9-STD Paragraph C9.8.19.2. The paragraph states that Demilitarization processing equipment is tested to be capable of containing overpressure, fragment, and thermal hazards associated with a worst-case reaction involving a single live round of the most energetic cartridge that could be processed in the equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and a formal solicitation will not be issued. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities along with clear and convincing documentation of meeting the requirements within 15 days of publication of this announcement. Submission must include prices and technical documentation. But it is within the discretion of the Government to consider any information submitted. Submissions can be made to: Rock Island Contacting Command, ATTN: AMSCC-RCC-AI, Mr. Justin Lockett, Rock Island, IL 61299-6500. If no responses clearly demonstrate another vendors ability to meet the Governments requirements, a contract will be awarded to Triple S Dynamics.
