- NAICS Code: 541519 Intent to Sole Source IBM Global Federal Systems Maintenance: This announcement serves as a notice of an intent to award a sole source Purchase Order using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) as prescribed in FAR Part 13 to: International Business Machines Corporation(IBM), 8123 S Hardy Dr, Tempe AZ 85284-1106 This Purchase Order is for the purchase of one year of service maintenance for EPA owned IBM Global Federal Systems. This is a sole source requirement because the Office of Acquisition Management (OAM) has standardized on IBM server hardware to support the LAN environment and acquisition community within EPA. Therefore, having non IBM Service support on our existing IBM hardware would void our current warranties and in-place maintenance agreements with the IBM Corporation. OAM's inability to obtain hardware support from IBM in the event of hardware failure could render OAM's Acquisition Systems off-line for an extended period of time, thus jeopardizing the office's mission. IBM is the only authorized source to provide maintenance for this requirement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract awards shall be made based on offers submitted in response to this notice. A determination not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
