- Description
- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Tucson Sector Border Patrol, intends to issue a sole-source contract to Gentex Corporation, Electro-Acoustic Products for the hardware and installation of two (2) communications systems for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. These internal communications systems (ICS) MUST consist of the following: 1.Main station (LVIS, LVIS v5 or LV2 or AN/VIC-3) MUST support 5 or more operators. 2.MUST support the Motorola XTL 5000 vehicle radio. 3.Communications headsets MUST have active noise reduction (ANR) capability. 4.Headsets MUST fit underneath the ACH/MICH ballistic helmet. 5.Microphone MUST have noise canceling attributes. 6.Push-to-talk (PTT) MUST be dual port: One for the main ICS station and the other MUST support the handheld, portable Motorola XTS 3000/5000. 7.MUST supply an adapter cable and connector for the UH-60 Blackhawk ICS. 8.MUST include an engineer sent to Tucson to install systems in conjunction with Sector Electronics Shop. The North American industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334220 and the size standard is 750 employees. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with Gentex Corporation. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the government to determine if the party can perform the requirement. A determination to compete this action based on the responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via email to tammie.crow@dhs.gov. No faxed documents will be accepted. If no responsive statements are received by 12/8/08 at 4 PM MST, an award will be made to Gentex Corporation. Contracting Office Address: 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
