- Description
- It is the intention of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to enter into negotiations with the Hill County Sheriff's Office in Montana for the purpose of providing security surveillance and law enforcement support for Fresno Dam, Government Camp, Field Office and Recreation Complex. The Sheriff's Office has primary jurisdiction in Hill County and has expert knowledge of Montana and federal laws. The Sheriff is the primary source for law enforcement support and is empowered by the State of Montana with full arrest authority in Phillips County. In addition, the Sheriff is the immediate emergency responder and is authorized by the State of Montana to carry firearms in the performance of duty. The agency's security program requriements mandate that armed law enforcement personnel be readily available to repond to any intrusion alarm, terrorist or domestic threat, or other criminal activity on a 27 hour, 7 days a week basis. The Sheriff's Office is the only law enforcement agency who can immediately comply with and respond to the agency's Threat Condition Protective Measures for this facility.
