- Description
- The US Army JM&L Contracting Center is conducting a Market Survey for the BFVS skirt program. The BFVS skirt program is a new protection system that must becapable of protecting the Bradley in the "skirt" area below the existing armortiles. Armor system mounting provisions must be able to accommodate theexisting skirt armor. The Armor system must be able to protect againstImprovised Explosive Device (IED), Explosively Formed Penetrator (EFP)andRocket Propelled Grenade Threats (specific threat classified Secret).Additionally, the armor tiles must meet BFVS weight restrictions, with thetotal integrated weight limit at 4,300 lbs including brush guards and mountingprovisions. No major changes to the vehicle interface are to be made. TheQualification Program for the tiles shall be in accordance with performancespecification MIL-DTL-70773B (AR) which has been classified as SECRET. Aminimum SECRET clearance is necessary to gain access to this information.
