- Modification: This synopsis originally posted on 10/30/08 is modified to change this request from a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation to an intent to award a sole source order to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond, VA 23284. Sequencing Services performed using Illumina Genome Analyzer/Solexa Sequencing Platform. The sequencing services requested in the Request for Quotation is actually a follow-on to an existing sequencing project currently being conducted by VCU under Order # HHSN273200800178P dated 7/14/08. This project must be completed by VCU in order to maintain continuity of the project. Protocols established with the initial project must be maintained through the remainder of the project to achieve the desired results. Sample results obtained in initial project are to be utilized for this follow-on project. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 6 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 6 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Virginia Commonwealth Univ. The NAICS Code/Size is 541690/$7.0 Million. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
