Description
Medium Mine Protected Vehicle Request for Information The US Army is seeking alternatives for meeting the requirements of its Medium Mine Protected Vehicle (MMPV) program. This request for information is released for the purposes of allowing potential suppliers the opportunity to indentify themselves to the MMPV Project Manager and to describe their products with reference to how they can meet MMPV program requirements. The Medium Mine Protected Vehicle (MMPV) is intended to be a blast protected, wheeled vehicle platform that will operate in explosive hazardous environments. It will support Future Engineer Force (FEF) Clearance companies in route and area clearance operations, Explosive Hazards Teams in explosive hazards reconnaissance operations and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) companies in EOD support operations. Participation in this survey is not required in order to be eligible for any future MMPV contract competition. Foreign companies are welcome to participate in this survey. However, non-US suppliers should be aware that any future MMPV acquisition will probably be subject to Trade Agreements Acts, which may impact their eligibility for a contract award. Refer to Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement subpart 225.4 for a fuller explanation. An MMPV website has been established at http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/. The website shall include a copy of this request for information. It will also include a list of needs and capabilities that describe the desired attributes of the MMPV. Participants must review the information posted at the website prior to responding. Additional information will be provided either directly to respondents or by posting to the website. Participants should provide: 1) A brief description of your company and previous experience at producing military vehicles similar to the MMPV. 2) A detailed description of the vehicle. 3) A specification sheet for the vehicle, including length, width, height and gross vehicle weight. 4) An explanation of how your vehicle will meet the MMPV needs and capabilities as identified on the TACOM MMPV website. This should include discussion of the extent to which the vehicle meets the capabilities, and identify any known shortfalls. 5) Identify your organization, and provide contacts for technical and administrative purposes. Also identify key subcontractors and joint venture partners. 6) Identify any foreign team members, foreign organizations, and foreign national key personnel. 7) The Army desires rough order of magnitude pricing, as well as an assessment of your ability to produce at a rate of approximately 20 vehicles per month, and the lead-time required to attain that production rate. It is understood that any such information will be subject to many caveats. Participants may chose not to supply any price information. All responses will be treated as your companys proprietary information, and will be used only for the purposes of government market research and planning. Responses should be sent by email to: mmpv@conus.army.mil, no later than 5 January 2009. Questions may be sent to this same address. Questions and answers deemed to be of general interest may be posted on the MMPV web site, so all participants are encouraged to check the site regularly through December 2008 for new information. The point of contact is Jeffrey Bean (586) 574-4189.
