- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Industry Comments on (1) Combining C26D and UC-35C/D and (2) Five vs. Ten year contract The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), NAS Patuxent River, Maryland (PMA-207) is contemplating combining Contractor Logistics Support for its C-26D aircraft and UC-35 aircraft. NAVAIR is seeking industry comments/views for the pros and cons of such a combination for a five, possibly 10 year contract. Please provide responses for both inquiries: (1) Combining C-26D and UC-35 aircraft CLS maintenance into one contract; (2) Preference for length of contract – 5 years (base and 4 option years) or 10 years (base and 9 option years). Include in your response any unique terms and conditions that would be desired. See aircraft details below. The C-26D is a militarized version of the commercial FAA type-certified Fairchild Metro 23, SA227. The C-26D’s mission is to provide time-sensitive movement of personnel and cargo, limited medical evacuation, and range support using on-board surveillance radar. The seven (7) C-26D aircraft operate in three sites: three (3) located in Barking Sands, Hawaii, for range support, two (2) in Sigonella, Italy and (2) in Naples, Italy. The UC-35 is a commercial derivative of the Cessna Citation Ultra/Encore aircraft. The UC-35C/D mission is to provide rapid response, high priority movement of passengers and cargo, as well as limited medical evacuation. The twelve (12) UC-35C/D aircraft operate in five sites: two(2) aircraft at New Orleans, LA; two aircraft at (2)Miramar, CA; three (3) aircraft at Andrews AFB, MD; two (2) aircraft at Cherry Point, NC, and three (3) aircraft at Futenma, JP. The Statement of Work (SOW) would be similar for each aircraft. The UC-35 SOW is accessible on the NAVAIR Home Page (http://www.navair.navy.mil), located on the World Wide Web (WWW) and accessed by client browsers such as Netscape and Internet Explorer. At this site, navigate through Doing Business, Open Solicitations, and N00019-09-R-0205. This request for industry comments/views is for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bid or proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government NAVAIR requests responses to both inquiries (1) combining aircraft and (2) contract length preference No Later Than 19 December 2008 via email to both PoCs: patricia.collier@navy.mil and james.m.smith@navy.mil
