- Description
- USAID/West Africa Mission intends to modify its current contract # 624-C-00-05-00024-00 with Nexant, Inc. for the West Africa Power Pool. The current ceiling of the performance based Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee is $6,962,823. The intention is to increase the ceiling by $200,000 that will provide additional technical assistance to enhance the security of the West Africa Gas Pipeline (WAGP). The pipeline is currently subject to damage by illegal anchoring. USAID is partnering with AFRICOM to enhance the capabilities of regional authorities to assure the safety of the pipeline. The deliverable under this contract action will be an offshore pipeline damage prevention program consisting of coordination seminars between WAGP countries, training needs assessments for harbor personnel, and an assessment of pipeline safety monitoring equipment. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70 (b)(5). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within 15 days from the date which this notice is posted. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
