- Description
- This is a Source Selection Best Value two phase Design-Build solicitation to design and construct twelve multi-story BEQs with interior and exterior reinforced concrete masonry walls, brick masonry exterior veneer, reinforced concrete slab on pile foundations with reinforced concrete footings and standing seam metal roof. Construction will consist of a total of 1300 two-person rooms with semi-private bathrooms and walk-in closets in the standard 2X0 room configuration. Sustainable features will be included in the design, development, and construction of the project in accordance with Executive Order 13123, the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 2005 and other laws and Executive Orders. Built-in equipment includes or may include elevator, fire protection water pump with generator backup, domestic water booster pump, battery containment area, cable vault, a diesel generator, raised flooring and spectrally selective window glazing. Electrical systems include distribution, ! pad mounted transformers, fire alarms and exterior area lighting. Mechanical systems include fire protection systems, HVAC system, plumbing, domestic water, sanitary sewer, and steam distribution. Information systems include telephone, CATV, LAN, energy saving monitoring control systems, and data communication systems. Paving and Site Improvements include additional new parking and access driveways, sidewalks, operational and directional signage, cleaning, staging and drying area for field equipment, new recreation areas, storm water management, related site fill improvements to stabilize and for overall site drainage and accessibility, and landscaping. Supporting facilities include site and utility connections and upgrades. Accomplish various related building demolition and necessary roadway and intersection improvements. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, engineering, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and transportation to perform all of! the services described in the specifications and any applicable drawings. The approximate Solicitation Release Date is 09 January 2009. This solicitation is available in electronic format only. All documents will be in the Adobe Acrobat PDF file format via the Internet.
