Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has a requirement for DOCKSIDE repairs to be performed on the NOAA ship RONALD BROWN at its homeport - Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, 1050 Register Street, Charleston, SC 29405. The performance period will be 40 calendar days with a start date on or about February 13, 2008 and ending on or about March 24, 2009. This acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the NOAA Ship RONALD BROWN. The characteristics are: Length Overall: 274 ft. 0 in. Beam, Molded: 52 ft. 6 in. Draft, Navigational: 19 ft. 0 in. Displacement, Full Load: 3,250 LT Gross Tonnange: 3,180 GT Depth to Main Deck: 26 ft. 6 in. Machinery Plant: Split Bus Diesel Electric Diesel Generators: Three Caterpillar 3516 with Kato A248440000 @1,500 KW each Three Caterpillar 3508 with Kato A248410000 @ 715 KW each Motors: Propulsors: Two @3,000 HP Fixed Pitch Z-Drive Bow Thruster: One @1,180 HP Azimuthing Jet Drive DRYDOCK BASIC ITEMS include: 0001 General Requirements 0002 Misc. Steel Repairs 0003 Piping Renewals And Mods 0004 Incline 0005 Misc. Hydraulic Repairs 0006 Mission Ups Installation 0007 #3 Generator Repairs 0008 Misc. Electrical Mods and Repairs 0009 Anchor Windlass Repairs 0010 Forward Mast Preservation/Repairs 0011 Motor/Generator Maintenance 0012 Main Mast Preservation 0013 Bridge Repairs 0014 Oily Water Separator Installation 0015 Gage Calibrations 0016 HVAC Repairs 0017 Dynamic Positioning System Installation DOCKSIDE OPTION ITEMS include: 1001 A Frame Preservation 1002 Anti Roll Tank Preservation 1003 Sewage Tank Modification ADDITIONAL WORK ITEMS include: 2001 Additional Work - Labor Hour 2002 Additional Work - Material Cost All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications and referenced NOAA Standard Specifications to be provided with the solicitation. Vessel will be available for inspection January 23, 2009 at Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, 1050 Register Street, Charleston, SC 29405. Arrangements for inspections can be made by contacting Jamie LeCompte at 843-297-3426. Copies of the solicitation will only be posted on FEDBIZOPPS. The IFB posting will appear on or about December 30, 2008 and will be issued on a full and open basis. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract utilizing sealed-bid procedures outlined in FAR 14. The solicitation will include a requirement for a bid bond and performance & payment bonds. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency.
