- STATEMENT OF WORK(INFORMATION IS ALSO IN ATTACHED RFQ N00189-09-T-G007)Building 1171C Chiller Repair and Compressor replacement. DISCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall furnish all labor, management, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, incidental engineering and transportation to repair two "McQuay" chillers Model # ALE090E. (1)REPLACE ONE DEFECTIVE COMPRESSOR (CHILLER NEAREST TO BUILDING 1171C.(2)REPLACE LIQUID LINE FILTER DRIER FOR CHILLER WITH COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT.(3) PUMP DOWN SYSTEM OR RECLAIM REFRIGERANT TO APPROVED RECLAIM BOTTLE TO CORRECT THE OVERCHARGE FROM PREVIOUS REPAIRS.(4)CHARGE SYSTEM WITH DRY NITROGEN TO CHECK FOR LEAKS)(5)IF NO LEAKS ARE PRESENT, THEN PROCEED TO EVACUATE EACH CIRCUIT TO A MINIMUM OF 500 MICRONS.(6)OPERATE EACH CIRCUIT AND CHARGE EACH CIRCUIT TO FULL CAPACITY PER MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS.(7)OPERATE BOTH CHILLERS AND ENSURE THAT ALL CIRCUITS ARE OPERATING EFFICIENTLY. (8) THE OPEN PART OF THE SYSTEM SHALL BE EVACUATED TO A MINIMUM OF 500 MICRONS BEFORE REFRIGERANT IS INTRDUCED BACK IN TO THE SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE CHECKED FOR REFRIGERANT LEAKS AND REPAIRED BEFORE THE SYSTEM IS PUT BACK INTO OPERATION. Contractor is responsible to discard of any and all debris caused by this task, including the old system and associated parts. Contractor shall obtain a hot works permit (841-2225) before using any torches and have a fire extinguisher on hand (if needed) Contractor shall operate the unit and check system for optimum performance with a government Inspector present before the job is signed off as complete. Contractor is responsible to notify the assigned inspector: Paul Cabral (401) 841-2812, if any outages are required for this project. The contractor shall not proceed until all forms are completed and assigned inspector approves the outage. NOTE: It is possible that the chain link fence will be required to be partially removed in order to access the defective compressor. Contractor will be responsible to remove the fence and replace the fence after the task is completed. NOTE: The compressors will be moved from and to the chiller by using a government crane or fork lift. However the contractor will be responsible to maneuver the old compressor away from the chiller if the crane is not able to reach under the chiller. The contractor will be responsible to transport the new compressor to the chiller and transport the old compressor out of the premise. The reverse will be applicable for installation of the new compressor. Health & Safety: The contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, State and Local requirements for protecting the safety of the building occupants and employees. Environmental: The contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, State and Local requirements for any fluids or materials, to be discarded, that are associated with this task.
