Description

This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Proposal (RFP). A solicitation is not being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement or otherwise pay for any information submitted by the respondents to this request. This information is being requested for market research purposes only; to identify potential small businesses capable of providing the services as described in the attached Technical Requirements. The Government seeks vendor information about software products that are capable of generating worldwide road distances, in miles and kilometers, for the Defense Table of Official Distances (DTOD) program in accordance with the attached requirements. Firms responding to this RFI are asked to provide the following information in their initial response: company’s full name, business size to include small business size categories, i.e. 8(a), service Disabled-Veteran Owned Small Business, HUBZone, etc. GSA Schedule or Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) number (if applicable), Cage Code, DUNS number, address, and point of contact with telephone and e-mail address. Along with the capabilities and qualifications, ensure detailed information on your latest version of distance software products is included, with instructions on how to operate the software and information about the required operating environment, i.e. RAM required/recommended, type of operating systems required and how often and when updates are provided. Information submitted will not be returned to the respective respondents. Such capabilities and qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code for the requirement is 541990. The size standard for NAICS 541990 is $7M. Oral submissions of information are not acceptable and will not be accepted in response to this notice. Interested firms must submit the above detailed information perform this effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 2:00 p.m. CST, 07 January 2009.
