- Description
- The project is located on the Boadle-Jones Wetlands Reserve Program Easement approximately 25 miles southwest of Choteau, Montana. The project consists of removing 4 small dams and associated structures, as well as seeding and weed control activities. Dam embankments and core trenches will be excavated and stockpiled at waste areas by March 15, 2009. The contractor will be required to snowplow access roads, job sites, and to work with frozen soils as necessary to complete the project. Between June 30 and September 30, 2009 the contractor will return to the site to spread stockpiled materials on waste areas, begin weed control work, and repair any road damage during construction work. Between October 15 and November 15, 2009 seeding, hydro-mulching, and additional weed control work will be completed. The contractor will continue to be responsible for weed control work until November 30, 2011. Estimated earthwork quantities for the project are 9,900 cubic yards. Weed control and seeding activities will take place over 5 acres. The estimated project price range is $100,000 - $250,000. A site visit is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on January 15, 2009. The site visit will start at the USDA Service Center at 1102 Main Ave NW, Choteau, Montana; participants will then travel to the actual construction site. Verbal notification of your intent to attend the site visit is requested no later than January 13, 2009 by contacting Christi Fisher at 406-727-7580 x130. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) will be released on the Federal Business Opportunities page at www.Fedbizopps.gov the first week of January 2009. Hard copies will not be provided. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
