- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation package will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is to identify firms that have the interest and capability of competing as the prime contractor for potential road construction stone/rock materials supply contracts. Western Federal Lands is conducting market analysis to determine the feasibility of soliciting and awarding multiple Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Materials contracts for Masonry Stone and other Rock Materials. These materials would primarily be in support of the Going to the Sun Road Rehabilitation and other projects in or near Glacier National Park, Montana. Examples of materials that may be included are: STONE MASONRY MATERIALS (To be shaped during construction) Stone Masonry Random Rubble: Helena Formation Snowslip Formation (Red Argillite & Green Argillite) Stone Masonry Ashlar (Helena Formation) Stone Masonry Veneer: (Helena Formation) OTHER ROCK MATERIALS: Riprap (Class I through V) Granular Backfill Select Granular Backfill Barrier Rock Information provided by interested firms will be used solely for the purpose of Market Research and aiding in defining the contract methodology. Under consideration is the solicitation and award Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) with a 3 to 5 year ordering period. This type of contract requires successful firms awarded a MATOC to compete among other MATOC holder(s) for each task order. Firms interested in these potential contracts as PRIME contractors are asked to complete and submit the attached form via fax or e-mail as indicated on the form. Information on forms submitted not later than January 20, 2009 will be considered in the development of a solicitation as a result of this Sources Sought.
