- Description
- This project is located on the Los Padres National Forest. Work involves the demolition of a flat car bridge and replacing it with a new precast prestressed concrete bridge at the Selby Site. The Ble Canyon Site will involve making concrete repairs, lead based paint removal, painting, and guardrail repairs. SELBY BRIDGE SITE: From the intersection of Hwy 101 & Hwy 150 located in Carpinteria, CA., travel East on Hwy 150 for approx. 19 miles to Santa Ana Road just before the Lake Casitas Entry, then turn left (North) and travel approx 1 1/4 miles to West Avenal Ave, then turn left (southerly) and travel for approx. 1/4 miles to the dead end where the site is located just beyond in the creek bed. BLUE CANYON SITE: From the intersection of Hwy 101 & Hwy 154 located in Santa Barbara travel North on Hwy 154 for approx. 12 miles to East Camino Cielo, then turn right (East) and travel approx. 21 miles to the end of pavement at Romero Saddle, then turn right (North) on the dirt road and travel approx. 4 miles to the Blue Canyon Birdge Site. No Pre-Bid tour will be scheduled. Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicition, drawings, specifications, etc., must request it in writing soon enough to allow a replay to reach all prospective bidders before submission of their bids. Oral explanations or instructions given before the award of a contract will not be binding. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. The price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated contract time: 120 calendar days. Estimated start work date: March 1, 2009. Approximately posting of solicitation: January 5, 2009. This project is being issued as a Cascading Set-Aside. The format for award is as follows: a.) In accordance with FAR Subpart 19.13, award will be made on a competitive basis first to a responsible, eligible HUBZone small business concern that is technically acceptable in accordance with the solicitation and submits a fair and reasonable price; or b.) If the price from the HUBZone is not considered to be fair and reasonable, award consideration will be made in accordance with FAR Subpart 19.14, to a responsible, eligible Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns that is technically acceptable in accordance with the solicitation; or c) If a fair and reasonable price cannot be obtained from either a HUBZone small business concern nor a Service Disabled Verteran Owned Small Business, consideration will be to make award in accordance with FAR Subpart 19.5, to a responsible small business concerns that submits a fair and reasonable price and is technically acceptable in accordance with the solicitation.
