Description
TO PROCURE a welders for use in welding heavy duty battery for AFRL at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Welders consist of the power supply and the handpiece(s) and are rated according to their maximum power output. The current unit is rated at 250 Watt-Seconds and the need is for 1000 Watt-Seconds. The unit must also be portable. SIC Code 3548, NAICS Code 333992, Size Standard 500 Employees. This is a Sole Source procurement, synopsis published for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. This proposed contract action is for procurement of an item for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1. The proposed source is Miyachi Unitek Corporation, 1820 S. Myrtle Ave., Monrovia, CA. 91016. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. "An Ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process."
