- The Federal Bureau of Prisons - Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the provision of Mortuary Services for the inmate population at the Federal Correctional Complex, Beaumont (FCC), Texas. The successful contractor shall provide mortuary services to all deceased inmates to include: pick-up of the body, transportation to the contractor's funeral parlor in a suitable closed conveyance, embalming and dressing, professional services, casket requirements, death certificates, transportation of the body by railway, airway, or to a local cemetery. All requirements will be detailed in the Statement of work in the solicitation. It is anticipated that this RFQ will result in an award of a single contract that shall consist of a 12 month base year, with the possibility of four (4) 12 month option years. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm-fixed unit prices. Award will be made to the responsible quoter who submits the most advantageous quote to the Government. The estimated number of burials a year is12 for the base year and each of the option years. The solicitation will be available on or about December 30, 2008 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible formonitoring the site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about January 22, 2009. The North American Industry Classification System code for this solicitation is 812210. The solicitation is 100% set-aside for small businesses. The size standard for this requirement is $7.0 million. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All responsible small business sources may submit a quote.
