- Description
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Marketing Services (AMS), Cotton and Tobacco Programs (C&T), in response to an unsolicited proposal, intends to award to Uster Technologies Incorporated, a noncompetitive contract for a Large Area Trashmeter to provide more accurate leaf data when classing cotton samples. The requirements of the trashmeter are: a new sample window of 8" x 11", multi-spectral illumination source; high resolution camera and optics that characterize the uniformity and resolution with the current trashmeter calibration mediums (tiles and cotton under glass). This instrument or the technology must have the capability to be incorporated into our existing HVI1000 cotton testing instruments. Companies believing they can meet the stated requirements are encouraged to submit supporting evidence to that effect in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the stated requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested sources must submit demonstrative supporting evidence by fax, or e-mail to the address listed below no later than 15 calendar days from the date of this announcement. Responses must include technical statements and other material in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the requirements stated in this announcement. Further, responses should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet number (DUNS) and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Finally, firms should identify themselves as ether a small business, or other than small business, in accordance with the size standard for North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 333111 which is 500 employees. This is a Notice of Intent only and not an announcement of a solicitation. The Government will not pay for any materials furnished in response to this synopsis.
