Description
There is a mandatory site visit on January 21, 2009 at 10AM.This solicitation is open to all small businesses. STATEMENT OF WORK Computer Operation of Hurricane Shutters VBA Regional Office & Files Storage Warehouse St. Petersburg, FL Purpose The purpose of this Delivery Order is to provide services and materials for the Computerization of hurricane shutters at Saint Petersburg VA Regional Office & Files Storage Building. This project will provide the required services for: Computer operation of hurricane shutters. The VA Regional Office and File Storage building has approximately 350 motorized hurricane shutters. The shutters are currently controlled by 120v 3-pole switches located at each window. The purpose of this project is to modify and electronically control the opening and closing of these existing hurricane shutters. "The 120v 3-pole switches will be replaced with momentary switch for each window. "Each controller shall allow for the operation of twenty windows without causing a power overload on the electrical circuits. "The new system shall be internet ready and will provide an approved program to allow for access to the controllers from desktop computers located inside the VA Regional Office and remote locations. The contractor will provide the IP address, all required programming, protocols to be used to communicate to controls, software and all other required appurtenances and will work with the local IT staff for the connection to the network. "A wind speed automatic controller shall be installed in the system to allow for automatic closing of the hurricane shutters should the winds rise above fifty miles per hour. The contractor shall provide for all tools, labor, equipment, materials and parts for the completion of this task and will repair all damages done to the VA Regional Office and Files Storage buildings as caused by the completion of this project. Option For Consideration "The new system shall be tied into the emergency power panel to allow for operation in the event of a power outage. General Requirements Installation Drawings shall be delivered in AutoCAD 2004 or later and printed copies. Narratives shall be in Microsoft Word format. Plans shall be drawn using standard professional drafting skills, scales, and standards. The contractor shall submit a total of four ( 4) printed copies and two (2) electronic copies of the final documents to the key personnel listed below. Labor rates shall be as stipulated in Federal Wage Guide for the current year. Contractor shall assign a Project Manager as the primary Point of Contact for this Delivery Order and the Project Manager shall remain involved in the effort until completion. Contractor will perform the appropriate level of quality control on all deliverables. The Project Manager, Office of Facilities, Access and Administration shall approve the final layout plan and Installation Drawings.
