Description
Provide all necessary architectural and engineering services required to prepare complete contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates, including services throughout construction for Project No. 626-09-102, Renovate Research Lab Phase 1 at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, VA Medical Center, 1310 24th Ave., S., Nashville, TN 37212. Work includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and industrial hygiene. Work involves complete renovation of approximately 13,300 GSF (11,500 SF actual lab space) on one floor of the research laboratory building. This project will be the first of three lab floor renovations. Small individual labs will be arranged in an open concept and reconfigured according to modern BL-2 design philosophies. Existing offices at the heart of the individual labs will be moved to the perimeter to separate different space. Construction cost range is between 2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Area of consideration is limited to a 500 mile radius of the VA Medical Center, Nashville, TN. The NAICS code is 541310 and the size standard is $4.5 million. A/E selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for performance of required services; 2) specialized experience and technical competence of the A/E firm with similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with Government agencies; 4) Location of A/E firm; 5) experience and roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control and estimating effectiveness; (7) Veteran owned business status. Contract award is subject to availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal. Firms desiring consideration must submit two copies of SF 330 not later than 4:30 p.m. CST on February 6, 2009. SF 330 should be sent to Susan Kemp, Contracting Officer, Acquisition Service Center VISN 9 (90C), Department of Veterans Affairs, 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. No faxed or e-mail SF 330s will be accepted.
