PMS415 NEXT GENERATION COUNTERMEASURES (NGCM) TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS CONFERENCE: Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) PMS415 will host a Technical Requirements Overview of the Prime Item Performance Specification (PIPS) in support of the Next Generation Countermeasure (NGCM) program on 28 Jan (Wed) 2009 at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD, at the Dashiell Marina Conference Center in BLDG 62 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contractors need to check in at Visitor Control located at the NSWC-Indian Head main gate to get visitor IDs and parking permits before proceeding to the conference center. All attendees will be required to present Government issued photo identification to obtain the visitor IDs. Registration is restricted to US citizens and Permanent Resident Aliens only. Directions to the meeting location will be provided to the registered attendees at the NSWC Visitor Control. The meeting will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. Attendance is limited to no more than 3 individuals per organization, and it is encouraged to include at least one Chief Engineer or Technical Lead. This Technical Overview will be classified Confidential. Only those with a validated security clearance will be authorized attendance (and entrance onto the base). Participants interested in attending must email or fax a visit requests and security clearance no later than COB 21 January 2009 to Ms. Carol Finkle (carol.finkle.ctr@navy.mil, Fax 301-744-4707, Voice 301-744-6493. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Contractors shall also notify the PCO Representation, Debra Mackall, at Debra.Mackall@navy.mil, 202-781-2921 that you plan to attend the meeting and for any inquiries addressing anything other than attendance requirements. The objective of the NGCM program is to insert new countermeasure technologies into the submarine's defense against threat acoustic-homing torpedoes. The NGCM will replace the ADC (Acoustic Device Countermeasure) MK 2 and ADC MK 3 devices. The NGCM is a three-inch diameter acoustic torpedo countermeasure with advanced features which can be deployed either as a static or mobile device using Adaptive Countermeasure (ACM) technology. This expendable device will be submarine launched from the Signal Ejector and the Countermeasure Set, Acoustic (CSA) launcher system. NAVSEA intends to present a technical overview of the NGCM Technical Requirements for contractor use (for informational purposes only) in support of the NGCM Program. The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept proposals as a result of this synopsis. This notice shall not be construed as a promise to contract or commitment of any kind. The Government may not respond to any specific questions or comments submitted in response to this synopsis or information provided as a result of this synopsis. The Government will not award a contract resulting from this synopsis.
