Description

The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to procure the replacement of a Schwien Manometer. It is the intent of the government to procure this supply directly from Schwien Engineering, Inc., 2882 Metropolitan PL, Pomona, CA, on a sole source basis using a Firm Fixed Price contract. Schwien Engineering, Inc.’s manometer is the only known manometer with an accuracy of ± 0.00028 in Hg at ± 0.0015% of reading and a range of 110 in Hg. This level of accuracy and range is required to calibrate the numerous and varied secondary pressure standards within the Calibration Laboratory workload at FRC East Cherry Point, NC. Schwien Engineering has the sole proprietary rights to the design and manufacture of the 1025LX laboratory-grade mercury manometer. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.105. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See attached Brand Name J&A.
